In late spring of 2000 at a gig in Uddevalla, Sweden, Christian Lund joined the band as a live-member and went on stage with Andy and Seb for the first time. Along with being the vocalist for his En Route project, Christian had a background from a melodious EBM Fredrikstad-band called Elected By Fear where he played together with Fredrik Hansen from Echo Image (who also played at that gig) and Marius Johnsen from Centravibe.
After the release of IOC's first full-length Serenity Is The Devil in November 2000, which reached number three on the DAC-chart, the band went to Germany together with Beborn Beton. With nine gigs, positive feedback from the audience and very good reviews on the debut album, IOC gained a following in the synth/industrial scene.
During their tours, the band found the time to write material for their April 2002 sophomore album, The Soul Is In The Software, which stayed at number one on the DAC for a several weeks. IOC then performed at two more festivals: The Dark Jubilee Festival in London; and later as the Sunday-headliner for Synthpop Goes The World in Toronto, Canada, which turned out to be a very good but warm weekend and concert.
Icon of Coil came a long way in a short amount of time. For 2004 their third album, Machines Are Us, continued the trend with pummeling beats, sympathetic vocals, anthem-like melodies, and sweeping synths. Careful not to be outdone or forgotten, Icon of Coil released at the tail end of 2004 UploadedAndRemixed, which featured brand new mixes of songs from their first two records and two exclusive tracks at the tail end of 2004. No speaker is safe from Icon of Coil's bombastic onslaught.
After many musical experiments, Stefan Ackermann (voices and lyrics) and Bruno Kramm (instruments, music) decided to form Das Ich in 1989. In 1989, the band released the demo CD “Satanische Verse” and after another year their debut album “Die Propheten” on Bruno Kramms own label, Danse Macabre.
Das Ich skillfully mixed electronic, symphonic and early industrial elements into an explosive cocktail unprecedented in the often cliche ridden German music culture. Das Ich established itself with a fixed position in the scene and became the very epitome of experimental and electronic music.
They are celebrated as the starting spark of a new genre of post wave, post Kraftwerk, post Neubauten era, and successfully led the way in the charts of the independent scene. Tours all over Europe strengthened the position of Das Ich, who quickly got a reputation for being “apocalyptic eccentrics”, since their concerts appear to be evil and bone-jarring spectacles.
* After the release of their maxi CD “Stigma” in 1993, Das Ich went off on an extended tour through all of Europe and the U.S., and in addition played at various festivals, for example the Peter Gabriel WOMAD in Hamburg, as well as at the Documenta in Kassel.
* After that followed what up to now is their most compressed work as well as their least accessible, “Staub”. Its success underpined their precedence. Released right at Christmas time, “Staub” was on the waiting list of the German Media Control Charts for 11 weeks.
While in college, in addition to working on Assemblage 23 non-stop, Shear also collaborated with two friends, Mike Ukstins and Matt Guenette on a synth-pop project, Procession. The band didn't last long, but provided Shear with performance experience and practice. At first, Assemblage 23 was more of a hobby for Shear rather than a permanent project. There were occasional attempts and demos sent out, but when they lead to no interest in the band, Shear reverted back to making music for fun and his friends. In 1992, he self-released a collection of songs called "Wires". Several radio stations began playing the new act, and fledging magazines, such as Industrial Nation, began to show interest.
But it was a side project of Shear's called Nerve Filter that helped Assemblage 23 get some much needed recognition. On a whim, Shear sent copies of Assemblage 23 and Nerve Filter to Peter Stone of Xorcist, who in return handed them over to Don Blanchard of the now defunct 21st Circuitry Records. However, Blanchard's interest was not in Assemblage 23 but in Nerve Filter, although, a few Assemblage 23 tracks would later be released on several compilations. Arts Industria released the first 'official' Assemblage 23 song "Graverobber" on their Construction No. 009 compilation. Several more times Shear sent out demos to various labels, and even while being frustrated by the lack of interest, he still wrote more Assemblage 23 songs.
Finally in 1998, the Canadian label, Gashed Records signed Assemblage 23 and released their first album, Contempt in 1999, and the follow-up, Failure in 2001. Shortly after the release of Failure, Assemblage 23 had a falling out with Gashed Records and left the label to sign with Metropolis Records, who later that year re-released both Contempt and Failure. With only those two albums, Contempt and Failure, Assemblage 23 became one of the biggest names in industrial and EBM music today.
Formed in 2000 in Norway; Sigve Monsen, Per Waagen & Svein Joar Auglaend Johnsen are Pride and Fall. The music can be described as Futurepop or a club friendly approach to goth/darkwave.
Pride and Fall have released two full-length albums, Nephesh (2003) and Elements of Silence (2006). As of September 2006 they are once again back in studio working on a release for 2007. The releases can be found on Dependent Records in Europe and Metropolis Records in the USA.
Press release 2006: Pride and Fall spent a grueling two years in the studio after the release of their debut, “Nephesh”, in order to create an album worthy of being called a follow-up. They failed. What they created could in fact be called their pinnacle achievement : “Elements Of Silence” has all of the elements that bands twice as old as Pride And Fall only hope they can attain. Catchy melodies, beat driven hooks, fast paced synths, and smooth vocals that flow over the music like water over ice. From dance floor destroyers, to dark, heartfelt ballads, to introspective shoe gazer tracks - Pride And Fall’s “Elements Of Silence” is set to become one of the classic must have albums in electronic music
XP8 is Marko Resurreccion and Marco Visconti.
The band, started in 2001 as a trio including previous singer Paul Toohill , composes an airy blend of EBM, electronica, techno and trance, bringing their various visions and talents to life with synthetic vibrancy and danceable beats, crossing electronic genres with ease.
Aimed at the heart of the dancefloor, the music keeps listeners moving through the night in timeless waves, emitting subtle hints of the 80s while slipping easily into sounds of the new millennium: punchy bass drums, glitchy patterns, sharp simulated strings and clear vocals travel through bright sequences and brooding atmospheres.
After having released their first demo, Forgive, on the now defunct mp3.com website, and receiving good feedbacks, they signed a deal with the Polish label Black Flames Records, who would reissue the demo on May 2004 as Forgive[n], quickly followed by the Re_Productions EP in October 2004.
Over the years, XP8 made a name for themselves due to their energetic live performances: the band played all over Europe, from their native Italy to Russia, attended prestigious festivals like the Wave Gotik Treffen in Germany, and will finally tour the USA in summer 2008 with System Syn. Also their remix work is much sought-after, and bands as different as Soman, Attrition, Mortiis, Icon Of Coil and Dope Stars Inc. (among the several others) have been remixed by XP8.
Their third studio album, The Art Of Revenge, released on January 18th 2008 once again on Infacted Recordings, immediately received good reviews, and was subsequently licensed in North America to Sigsaly Transmission Media and in Russia to Gravitator Records; meanwhile, it reached the n° 1 slot on the Dutch Underground Chart and peaked at 5 th at the famous Deutsche Alternative Chart, proving once again how XP8 is constantly on the rise.
This time, revenge is coming... with art.
Formed in 2004, FGFC820 is the harsh EBM project from well-known and respected New York City DJs, Rexx Arkana and Dräcos. Drawing on joint and separate influences ranging from old school industrial to modern gabber, Arkana and Dräcos combine to create a sound that is at once melodic and relentlessly rhythmic, "bringing the 'thump' back to EBM", as one reviewer recently put it.
In addition to his 24 years of experience as both a DJ and promoter, Rexx Arkana is also the founder of the scene supergroup Bruderschaft. A collaboration of some of the electronic music world's top talents, Bruderschaft drew together, under Arkana's leadership, members of VNV Nation, Covenant, Apoptygma Berzerk and Icon of Coil in a charitable effort to benefit cancer research and treatment. As an artist in his own right, Arkana has also written lyrics and/or recorded vocals for such prominent underground acts as The Retrosic (New World Order), Neikka RPM (Storm of Hell), and davaNtage side project, Supreme Court (Mass Media Murder).

The name Necessary Response was scurrying through the Electro scene like a phantom for quite a while. No one really knew much about the project that was becoming increasingly popular through its club hits “Forever” and “Spilling Blood” featured on various compilations from the German record label Out of Line.
The man behind Necessary Response is none other than Daniel Graves of Aesthetic Perfection, who decided to form the project with B-Sides from his more aggressive electro band. Based on simple melodies and memorable vocal stylings, the debut album "Blood Spills Not Far from the Wound" is a dynamic and emotional record that offers much more than the typical dance floor fodder.
Astyplaz is a neologism. It is composed of the word ‘asty’ which in Ancient Greek means city and the French word ‘plage’ meaning beach. With this neologism, more or less a poetical metaphor of beach culture to the city is achieved (city beach).
Astyplaz is an Athens based 4 piece electronica/synth pop outfit.
In the autumn of 2005 Astyplaz debut album Name your Slippers was released (L Music – Canada). The Album title was inspired by the controversial author G.C. Lichtenberg (1742 - 1799 who was considered a forerunner of Surrealism).
Following the debut album release, a series of live concerts ensued playing alongside names such as Faithless (to a 5,000 strong crowd), Chemical Brothers, Soft Cell, DAF, Covenant, Haujobb, Melotron, Sigmatropic and Mikro. Astyplaz also performed as headline act in concerts throughout Athens and in other cities of Greece such as Patra, Thessaloniki and Larissa.
