‘’Hard electronic music as a kind of metaphysical kinetic mysticism’’
Lucinda Catchlove, Nightlife Magazine May 2008

The kinetic energy (also called in the old writings live viva, or sharp force) is the energy which a body because of its movement has. The kinetic energy of a body is equal to work necessary to make pass says it body of the rest to its current rotation and translatory movement.
It is Guillaume d' Ockham (1280-1349) who introduced, in 1323, the difference between what is called the dynamic movement (that we generate) and the kinetic movement (generated by interactions, of which collisions).*

According to this idea, the Kinetik festival want to be a response to this reality, that any body has an internal energy when put moving by releases, in this case, the interaction between energy (sound, light, images) and a body (assistance) placed in an environment or all these directions is put in request.

Fallowing the evolution of electronic music, including its obscure branches, and to its more known branches, this inner force, reflected in electronic music will be reflected during five nights, from Electro, to Old School Industrial, to Harsh Industrial, to Rythmic Noise and finally to EBM (Electronic Body Music), to lead to the maximum of senses towards new horizons. The Festival Kinetik on is third edition will be a reflection of electronic music and its evolution during the last 25 years from May 12 to May 16 2010. Once again, It will touches more than one style of music and it will bring a lot of attention to the Canadian scene, with many internationals acts and a special place for Canadians bands.
To allow a complete immersion via the inner force of electronics, the festival wants to touch to all media's to bring an additional support to the music. Live projections during all the shows by recognized VJ's, interactive expositions of various artists (painting, drawing, construction multimedia) with live performances during the shows and more…
To touch the wider public possible, the Kinetik festival wants to be as accessible as possible. The electro-industrial music influenced a lot of music styles during the last 25 years. With a place for the big names of the scene and an important place for new talents, helped by different media's to give the best penetration to this inner force.
